A note on women & selective literalism

Let us reason clearly. You say the text is flawless, yet you set aside some of its commands. The text includes instructions to silence women, to execute neighbors, and to regulate slavery. If the book is wholly good, those would be good; if they are not, then another standard is already doing the judging.

This is not an insult; it is observation. In practice, your operating rules appear to be equal dignity, competence over gender, and love-your-neighbor ethics. You keep what is humane and discard what is harmful. That is not strict literalism; that is selection.

Calling everything “perfect” while refusing the worst parts is inconsistent. A rulebook that permits owning people and silencing women cannot be called timeless if your conscience will not let you apply it.

Be direct about the standard you trust. If conscience and evidence lead, say so. That is wisdom, not rebellion.

Wear that honesty openly — let consistency be your cape, not denial.
